The M8A was built for the 1968 Can Am. The designers incorporated the latest idea of using the engine as a stressed member, square sides on the tub, and a big block Chevrolet engine. The car was very successful with Denny winning the championship.
BMMR M8A-1
M8A-1 was Bruce McLaren's Can Am car. Because of engine problems he only won one race. This car went on to become the M8B-2 that won the 1969 championship.
BMMR M8A-2
Denny won the 1968 Can AM championship winning three races. The car was turned into the spare M8B. It retained the M8A S/N tag.
SPARE TUB
The spare tub was used for the 1968 season. It was modified to M8B specs and became M8B-1. Denny ran the car for the full season.
