M8B-1 started life as the unused and unnumbered M8A spare tub built in 1968. Raced by Denny Hulme in Can-Am 1969. Became M8D development car and was pressed into service after Bruce was killed.
BMMR M8B-2
Built from M8A/1. Raced by Bruce McLaren in Can-Am 1969. Car was crashed at Riverside late in 1969. After the car was rebuilt, it was sold to Oscar Koveleski who raced it in 1970. Tony Adamowicz drove the car in the 1971 Can-Am. In 1972, it was run by Warren Agor, Kent Fellows, and Mark Waco in Can-Am.

M8B SPARE CAR
This car started life as Denny's championship winning M8A. Rebuilt as M8B for 1969 and became factory spare car. Bruce McLaren finished the season in this car after he wrecked his regular M8B/2. This car was also driven in 1969 by Brabham, Amon, and Gurney for the team. Motschenbacher wrecked the car at the 1970 Mosport Can Am. Still had M8A-2 S/N tag.
